On Jan.17th 2013, the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Macedonia held a friendship reception for the Macedonia Students who have taken Chinese language courses in China and Macedonia. More than 20 Macedonian representatives attended the event.

On the occasion, Ambassador Cui Zhiwei gave a brief introduction of the friendly cooperation between the two countries in recent years. He also mentioned a series of events which are about to be held this year to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. He encouraged the students to continue their education of Chinese so as to improve their Chinese language proficiency, contributing to the economic, trade and cultural exchanges, and enhancing the understanding between the two peoples.

All students attended the reception expressed their ideas enthusiastically. Some talked about their experience in learning Chinese, some talked about their work relating to the Chinese language skills. Some gave constructive suggestions such as to set up a "Chinese corner", to translate Works from Mr. Mo Yan who is a Nobel prize winner for literature, to host the "Shadow Boxing" festival of the two countries etc.

This event aroused the enthusiasm of Macedonian youth to love China and learn Chinese. It also set up a platform for communication and cultural exchanges between the Embassy and students as well as students themselves. It was warmly welcomed by all of them.

Counsellor Cui Zhimin and Commercial Counsellor Li Lianzhong were also at present.
