Ambassador Wen Zhenshun inspects Kozjak hydropower station

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of operation of the first generating unit at the Kozjak hydropower station built by CWE in Macedonia, a delegation of over 20 members from China's Ministry of Commerce and China Development Bank, led by Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia Wen Zhenshun and Economic Counsellor Yu Xuxin, inspected the station on July 5, 2014.


Ambassador Wen, accompanied by Zhang Jun, Deputy General Manager of International Business Department 6 of CWE, visited the dam area, powerhouse, central control room and other areas of the station, looking at performance of the equipment being run ten years and asking in details of the whole process of construction and historical background of the station.

                                     


In a meeting following the site visit, Ambassador Wen expressed his admiration for CWE in constructing the Kozjak hydropower station, the first hydropower station built by a Chinese company in Europe in the new era, with high quality to European standards within a limited time duration despite the extreme complication and difficulties . The ambassador also expressed his appreciation for CWE's work to achieve such good performance and maintenance of the station after ten years since the initial operation. Meanwhile, the Ambassador wished CWE new breakthroughs in market development with reputation gained on the Kozjak project and efforts in studying Macedonia and its neighboring markets.
