| China donates rescue equipment to Macedonia |

Donation from the People's Republic of China consisting of rescue equipment (four boats, uniforms, boots, helmets, etc) was handed over to the Macedonian Protection and Rescue Directorate (PRD) on Tuesday.
Chinese Ambassador to Macedonia Wen Zhenshun presented the equipment to PRD director Saban Saliu. "Today's event comes as a result of the long-standing cooperation in relation to the directorate's upgrading. The equipment can be used for several purposes, such as fire extinguishing, water and mountain rescue, large traffic accidents etc", stressed Saliu.
    Ambassador Wen Zhenshun said the equipment worth EUR 230,000 was not only a proof of the friendly bilateral relations, but that it would also mark a new beginning for mutual assistance.
He extended condolences to the families of the flood victims in Tetovo, saying company "Sinohydro", which is working on motorway Kicevo-Ohrid, has sent technicians and equipment to help the affected population. |
