A memorandum on friendly exchange was signed between Wuxi, Jiangsu province and the town of Kocani, Macedonia during the visit of a Kocani delegation led by the mayor Ratko Dimitrovski from April 9 to 11, 2016 according to the Wuxi government.

Wang Quan, mayor of Wuxi, welcomed the guests for their first visit to Wuxi. He said that Kocani has a favorable geographic location and excellent natural climate, as well as rich geothermal resources.

Wang said that the economic development of Wuxi and Kocani share common goals and he hoped that the two parties will cooperate comprehensively in the future.

Dimitrovski said that Kocani supports China's One Belt, One Road Initiative, and expressed his hope for Wuxi and Kocani to collaborate in agriculture, trade, tourism and infrastructure. He also invited Wuxi entrepreneurs to invest in Kocani.

During the visit, Kocani's delegation also received a tour of Wuxi's agricultural industry.
