To celebrate the 85th anniversary of the founding of the People's Liberation Army, Senior Colonel Zhong Liangli, the Defence Attaché of the Chinese Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia, hosted a reception in Hotel Aleksandar Palace on 26 July, 2012. Also present at the reception were His Excellency Ambassador Cui Zhiwei and his wife, along with other diplomats of the Embassy.

More than 200 guests from the Macedonian Armed Forces, Defence Attaché Association and Macedonian Government, including Major General Gorancho Koteski, Chief of the General Staff of ARM, attended the reception.

With a multimedia presentation of short movie and photos, the DAO introduced the PLA's sacred duty of maintaining peace and stability, safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity and its outstanding performance in carrying out diversified military operations in the recent years. The whole event was overflowed with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests expressed their congratulation for the great achievements of the PLA in the process of modernization and its contribution to world peace.
