On the evening of June 16, 2019, President Xi Jinping returned to Beijing after concluding state visits to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and the Republic of Tajikistan and attendance at the 19th Meeting of the Council of Heads of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the 5th Summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee Ding Xuexiang; Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee Yang Jiechi; State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi; Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and Director of the National Development and Reform Commission He Lifeng and other delegation members arrived by the same plane.
On the morning of June 16 local time, Xi Jinping left Dushanbe for Beijing. Upon Xi Jinping's departure, President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan saw him off at the airport. The two heads of state bid farewell to each other in a friendly manner.
Xi Jinping expressed his appreciation for Emomali Rahmon and the Tajik side's hospitality and congratulated Tajikistan on successfully hosting the CICA. Xi Jinping said that I enjoyed the visit to Tajikistan, during which I had in-depth discussion with Emomali Rahmon on issues of common concern and reached important consensus. Cooperation between the two countries on the Belt and Road Initiative has yielded positive outcomes. It is believed that as a result of joint efforts, bilateral cooperation will reach a new height and benefit people of both sides.
Emomali Rahmon congratulated Xi Jinping on the success of his visit to Tajikistan and thanked Xi Jinping and the Chinese side for contributing to the CICA. Emomali Rahmon said that with a deep friendship with President Xi Jinping and the Chinese people, the Tajik people cherish Tajikistan-China relations and appreciate the Chinese side's valuable support, and that President Xi Jinping's visit to Tajikistan has been fruitful and important. The Tajik side will use it as an opportunity to further strengthen its relations with China.
