The assembly of the new Macedonian train, which was ordered from China, has started on  Monday,26th Ocotber, at the rail tracks of the customs administration terminal of the Macedonian Railways company in Skopje.

                                 

The train's sections have arrived mounted on trucks designed for special freight transport for a large scale cargo.

Chinese workers are coordinating the assembly of the train parts, at the same time training the Macedonia Railway workers to service and maintain the new Macedonian train.

The train was presented for the first time in July this year, when it was officially taken out of the Chinese CSR company's plant.

According to the plan, Macedonia will receive six new trains from the Chinese company, which will be operated by Macedonian Railway Transportation company.

Electronic displays in the new trains will announce the next train stations. The trains also have a modern exterior and interior look. The seats are red, while the exterior design consists of white surfaces with red and yellow lines.

In line with the contract, the Chinese company is obliged to deliver all the trains by the start of 2016. The total investment for the procurement of the trains stands at EUR 24.980,000.

The trains will fit around 1,200 passengers, and will meet the highest European standards on passenger transportation, both in terms of the technical features and meeting the standards on quality passenger transportation.

The cars will be fully air conditioned, equipped with vacuum system toilets, at the same time being energy efficient and meeting all safety standards, as well as the standards regarding the transportation of people with limited mobility.
