On May 28, 2014, Foreign Minister Wang Yi met in Beijing with visiting Minister for Foreign Affairs Gilbert Saboya Sunyé of Andorra.

Wang Yi stated that China-Andorra relations have witnessed a smooth development since both sides established diplomatic relationship 20 years ago, setting a good example of mutual understanding and support for both big and small countries. The two countries respect each other's core interests and major concerns in politics, actively expand cooperation in tourism and other fields in economy, and maintain communication and coordination in the UN and other international affairs. The Chinese government is willing to make joint efforts with Andorra to push the bilateral friendly cooperative relations for continuous development.

Saboya said, Andorra attaches high importance to its relations with China, cherishes the traditional friendship between both peoples and stands ready to further enhance cooperation with China in tourism, sports and other fields, ensuring Andorra-China relations achieve greater development.
